To me:

Distance can be as far away as out of this galaxy, and a trillion light years away…

…to as close as what is physically or emotionally inside you. Personally, I think distance is both how close and how far away anything or anyone is. There is no maximum or minimum distance . There is negative and positive distance.

Apart or together, in the closest of teeth (something so very small), there will always be distance.

Personal Territory Tour

Just under a "bridge" on the way to Main Street from Alfred University

1. There is some very thick air here.
2. The sun comes in through every tree and makes an ugly sewer look beautiful.
3. The reflection of the sun on the water gives the somewhat bland area some color.
4. The water in the area flows incredibly quickly during a storm.
5. When the water from the sewer hits the water on the rocks it makes such a calm and peaceful clapping noise.
6.  This area is very secluded and not many people are near it.
7. This entire area is very undisturbed by garbage and littering.
8. When the sun begins to go down, the entire mood of the area changes from mellow to slightly melancholy.
9. The white foam in the water  resembles  that of bubbles in a child’s bath.
10.  The water is not very clear, it’s quite cloudy.
11.  The smell reminds me of when I went to camp and we would sit by the lake there.
12. This area seems undisturbed by footprints.
13. There are many benches just up on the hill of this spot to relax and eat or maybe do some work. They are wooden.
14. There is a lot of chunky moldy cement here.
15. It seems as though on a windy night, one of these trees here could collapse at any moment.
16. You could easily cross the water with the large rocks sticking out of it.
17.  The majority of colors here are Green and Brown.
18. There are many large boulders to sit on here.
19. There is a mini pathway from the top of the hill to this little spot.
20. This spot is only about 40 or 50 feet long, and 15 or 20 feet wide!
21. The ripples in the water remind me of a fish coming up to the surface to get some food.
22. The vines in the ground make me think i may trip over one.
23. There is so much dirt and mud everywhere.
24. When it’s dark out, this place gets kind of creepy.
25. I think a family of 3 squirrels live in the tree above my head.
26. I have seen 2 chipmunks in the matter of 45 seconds.
27. When the sun is rising, this place looks much dirtier than when the sun is setting.
28. There is very dirty water and dark green moss inside the sewer.
29. Every boulder is unique with a different dent and bruise and crack in different spots.
30. There are may leaves that have fallen into the water because Fall is now just around the corner.
31. There is a giant variation of rock sizes here.
32. There are many different shaped shadows that lay on the rocks.
33. There are no fish in this water… I think they would die.
34. Many pink slimy worms live in the dirt though.
35. Most of the leaves here are green, although I have seen a few red oval ones.
36. There are some random chunks of wood just laying around here.
37. Wait, I found a footprint! Scratch number 12!
38.  This place looks like a scene out of a movie.
39.  I bet it wouldn’t be this pretty in the winter, because the water would be frozen.
40. I’m starting to hear many voices pass me. I guess class just let out.
41. I feel like all i can really hear here are my own thoughts.
42. i just skipped a rock in the water, I don’t even know how, that’s never happened before.
43. The air is very humid and I can see the early morning dew on the tree leaves.
44. There are many cracks in the sewer
45.  There are 3 birds nests around me.
46.  There are 3 pipes from the sewer that feed out into the rest of the water.
47.  It looks like there are cement walls that block too much mud from falling into the sewer.
48.  My feet sink into the floor as I walk.
49. I feel like some of this floor is unsturdy.
50. There is a hole in the cement right next to the sewer entrance.

Well he’s really cute but he’s wearing flip flops and I hate that.

Haha, why? What’s wrong with that.

I don’t know, it’s gross. Guys shouldn’t have that gross thing between their toes.

So what are they supposed to wear in the summer or when it’s hot?

I don’t know, sandals?

Didn’t you just say you hated those?

No, Flip flops have the thing between the toe. Sandals are the strappy parts that go over your feet. Like addidas or birkenstocks.

That makes no sense, hahaha.

I have to write a personal essay for writing.

I’m writing about the time my dad was sick and was in the hospital.

GUIDED TOUR

Go down (or to) the stairs next to the side of Kanakade Hall.(When walking from the COHEN BUILDING the stairs are to the right. When walking from the POWELL CAMPUS CENTER the stairs are to the left)

When you look to your left (coming from PCC)

or your right (coming from the Cohen Building), you will see a little tiny pathway

leading to what looks like a bunch of trees, but is actually a beautiful piece of land

and some not so dirty looking sewage water. When entering the space i walked

around and changed my view multiple times in that area! Enjoy!
